Sunny Leone! I would have laughed it off. But pornhub.com and Sunny Leone are the most searched names by Indian web visitors.
Both may have their great social services and calm mankind. But when porno stars start occupying our work-life and social behavior then it is a serious mental disorder. A top student start spending so much time on porno that he/she starts to slip on grades in college or high-school.Office workers spend work time on porn and cannot meet work deadlines and lose their job. A housewife fantasizes on the kitchen table about spread eagles, stepfather and auntie porn, forgets feed time for the crying baby. A newlywed is masturbating instead of spending time with the partner. All these are serious issues, serious enough to put the whole world in way of harm.
An American writer Erica Garza has come up with a book “Getting Off”. She explains her own personal life, of how experimenting with porn destroyed her personal life, not to mention her experience of AIDS and STD infection fear one night when she had three tequila shots in a Bombay bar. “I felt racing thru my body, made me invincible”.
This crazy experience made her write a book, “Getting Off”.
In the book, she recommends going thru a rehabilitation program attending a 12-step programme to maintain sobriety like no pornography, no masturbation, no sex before commitment to a person, no tv in the room. People struggle to maintain such discipline. Some succeed, some fail, lose control and go back to rehabilitation again.
“Getting Off” is a debut nonfiction work that got great reviews for this California writer. The prestigious New York Journal of Books praises for her braveness to bring out our naval gazing habits of selfie era to discuss in sobre society. Los Angeles Review of Books says “Getting Off is doing a crucial work. Garza is admirably bold — we care about sexual health of our young people”. The Times of UK says, “Garza deserves our respect for naming her shame”. Kirkus book review says “it’s a great service to the society”.
