Publishing Empire make New Guideline to stop sexual exploitation of models

New York Times reports on two famous fashion photographers from Conde Nast, the biggest fashion magazine producer to issue a guideline for any of its fashion shoots. Terry Richardson, a famous fashion model accused in New York daily news that photographer forced sex on her in 2003. Several more models came forward with similar charges. Ana Gaiza in 2014 alleged the photographer repeatedly pressed himself against her.

Conde Nast issued following guideline for future photo shoots.

  • Model must be 18 or more.
  • If model is minor, she must be accompanied by a guardian.
  • No illegal or prescription drug to be given to model for performance.
  • No shooting under influence of alcohol allowed.
  • Model must not be alone with photographer, makeup artist or other contributor.
  • Any travel or outdoor shoot must be approved by Conde Nast.

Conde Nast is a famous publishing empire with very big titles like New Yorker, GQ, Self, Allure, Vanity Fair, Cosmopolitan and Vogue, founded in 1909. Their guidelines are empirical in fashion industry globally. They have a strong presence in India
