Serious negotiations are going on among Afghanistan, Pakistan and the United States on how American troops can get out of Afghanistan. Al-Qaeda is expected to have upper hand in this negotiation. If Al-Qaeda comes to power in Afghanistan, it will be waste of all investment India has done since 2001 in helping moderate India friendly Afghans. It will also free Pak resources invested in Afghanistan to make more trouble for India in Kashmir. India would have had a much bigger headache to contain Pak ISI stirred terrorism in Kashmir. Article 370 puts tab on India, so much of what India can and can not do to resolve and maintain peace in the valley. This is why it was right time to ditch Article 370.
Another favorable factor to abrogate Article 370 was dissolution of Kashmir legislative body to fulfill international demand for filling legal formalities that kept Nehru and all other Prime Ministers of India in corner for decades from ditching article 370.
Icing on the cake was Amit Shah organizing entire plan with unexpected and unthinkable moves of a fox that Congress Party, the main opposition found itself confused and undecided on how to react on issue as simple as Kashmir being a part of India or NOT. Congress party imploded by fighting one another, some saying no and some not being able to say yes or no. Sonia Gandhi walked out of Lok Sabha against supporting the bill. Rahul Gandhi announced opposing the bill 24 hours after it was announced in Rajya Sabha. AAP, BSP and TSP parties kept the grace supporting the bill despite their hostility to BJP and the ruling government
Modi won on all corners, muffing Pakistan and seasoned politicians of Congress party simply licking their wounds of confusion and humiliation. But congress party so unprepared to respond instantly indicates its intellectual incompetence in year 2019. History will keep this record engraved forever!
